Butter is excited to announce the signing of award-winning Director Mickey Smith to the Butter Roster.
Cornish born Mickey Smith grew up amongst a music-loving family of fishermen and mariners. His work as a director has been pioneering and propelled him to international attention.
Mickey’s autobiographical short film ‘Darkside of the Lens’ (2010) attracted international acclaim, winning multiple awards. In January 2016 Vimeo listed the film in their top ten films ever, and it has also won multiple awards around the world. He won the Kinsale Shark for young director in 2012. His photographic career has yielded 60+ cover shots in publications worldwide.
Meanwhile, he received acclaim for his ongoing musical work scoring films and soundtracks. Since 2012 he has collaborated with musician Ben Howard, joining his touring band as a multi-instrumentalist and playing the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury.
